A productive meeting of the Sport Committee and the Sport Judge Committee was recently held during the FEIF committee meetings 2025.
As every year, the Sport Judge Committee proposed optimizations for the sport judge guidelines which are the basis for all judges judging Icelandic horse sport events. Another central discussion point was the use and significance of the different cards used by the judges. The discussion around their meaning, consequences, and possible publication still requires further work but shows promising approaches.Proposals from the annual Sport Leader meeting were also on the agenda, some of which will be submitted to the next Delegates Assembly or the next Sport Leader meeting. This includes a proposal to allow additional riders from the World Ranking list to participate in the World Championships, a point that was already raised previously. The rules for withdrawals from competitions as well as inquiries about the use of barefoot boots in competitions were also discussed and prepared for the Annual Sport Leader meeting in February 2025.
This joint meeting of the committees thus laid important foundations for important improvements, demonstrating the value of collaboration in sustainably shaping and developing the sport.
