The British Equine Veterinary Association have issued the attached advice to its members regarding an outbreak of EHV-1 neurological disease following an equine event in Valencia Spain, with horses returning from the event to France and Belgium now showing similar clinical signs of neurological disease.  We believe that it is important that this information is disseminated widely within our equine industries and that we also refer members to the HBLB/International Code of Practice for EHV infections (https://codes.hblb.org.uk/index.php/page/32) for further advice.  We have also received another helpful update from FEI (attached).  We believe that it will be interesting, if not important, to know the EHV-1 strain type involved and if anyone has access to this information, please let us know and we will pass it on in a similar manner.
