We are pleased to announce that the updated national sport team selection criteria for 2023 are now available on the IHSGB website here . The main change is that we have removed the requirement for prospective riders to compete at all qualifying events in the UK. There are two reasons for this. First, in the wake of Brexit, transporting horses between Europe and the UK has become much more difficult. This combined with the current cost of living crisis means it is no longer reasonable to ask foreign-based riders to transport their horses to the UK for qualifying. Second, removing this requirement makes it possible for us to hold more qualifying events in the UK, without placing undue demands on our overseas prospective riders. This will ultimately give UK-based riders more opportunities to qualify.
