The FEIF Award is given by the FEIF Board to persons for their outstanding contribution to the work and the success of FEIF, the Icelandic horse and the Icelandic horse community in general. At the FEIF Conference 2025 in Vienna, the award was given to the outgoing president of FEIF, Jean-Paul Balz from Switzerland.

Jean-Paul has seen in all and done it all, starting as the faithful father who would drive his children to their first competitions right to the ultimate position as the president of FEIF. On the way he became a sport judge, served on the Swiss and the FEIF Sport committee, turned into the FEIF Director of Sports until 2023 when he took on the FEIF presidency. His faithfulness, and dedication to the job, whatever that might have entailed, is second to none. Thank you, Jean-Paul for your unique contributions and over many years.
