Preparations for the Icelandic Horse World Championships 2025 are progressing. The facility is completed, ticket sales are ongoing, and now the focus of the organizing committee is on finalizing the schedule, detailing the supporting program, and the symposium. Here are the latest updates on the 2025 World Championships.
Facility Completed
The pictures speak for themselves: The two oval and pace tracks – one for training and one for competitions – as well as wash areas in front of the stable tents, a podium for award ceremonies, and the collecting ring are completed!
Cashless Payments at the 2025 World Championships
On the entire grounds, cashless payments can be made with a wristband that also serves as a ticket. The wristband can be easily topped up via mobile phone or a physical charging station. After the World Championships, the remaining balance can be refunded.

An exciting supporting program is also in preparation. The symposium offers an ideal platform for exchange and discussion among like-minded individuals. There will be informative live talks and
exciting lectures providing new insights into the world of horses. Topics such as training tips, feeding, and horse welfare will be covered. Confirmed speakers include Antonia Gabriel, Dr. sc. Further expert talks will be continuously communicated on the various social media channels and the 2025 World Championships website. Admission is free.
Musical Evening Program and Varied Culinary Delights
From August 5th, 2025, parts of the World Championships grounds will transform into a vibrant party zone! Live bands and DJs will create an unforgettable atmosphere with music and dance every evening. Look forward to ClioZero, who have composed the World Championships song, as well as DJ Gary Knecht, SecondFirst, and The Led Farmers. A well-stocked bar will provide refreshing drinks.
The highlight on Saturday evening will be the Icelandic band Studlabandid. The detailed schedule for the show acts will be announced later.
Visitors can also look forward to varied culinary delights. A diverse food truck offering guarantees daily variety, whether Greek, Italian, Asian, or Swiss cuisine.
Relay Ride 2025: From Oirschot to Birmenstorf
The idea of the relay ride originated in the early 1980s when riders traveled from the previous World Championships venue to the new one. The relay baton contains a message from the former host to the next host. In June 2025, the relay ride will start in Oirschot. The rider pairs will complete several stages until the grand finale of the relay ride with the arrival at the World Championships grounds in Birmenstorf on August 3rd, 2025.
