Of course, the highlight for any rider coming to Iceland is a ride out into the ever surprising landscape – and horse trip in Reykholtsdalur is no exception. The ride was hosted by Haukur Bjarnason from the horse farm Skáney, home to a number of champions, horses and family alike. The camp set out in groups of about 12 riders and the ride included all the adventure which is not so easy to find anywhere but in Iceland: soft tracks for easy tölt, crossing rivers, the smell of hot springs. In this case all in one place. Happy horses, happy riders, happy organisers – we could not possibly have asked for more.
