The Leisure Riding Meeting began with short presentations from all participating countries, outlining their activities and initiatives for leisure riders over the past year. These showed a wide range of approaches, including virtual rides and challenges, leisure camps, educational seminars and welfare-focused activities. The exchange highlighted both successful formats and shared challenges, such as geographical distances, regional differences, and difficulties in reaching leisure riders who are not actively involved in clubs.
Following the country presentations, elections for the Leisure Riding Committee were held. Katja Schütz was re-elected for a one-year term, and Jana Etzold was elected for a two-year term.
The main focus of the meeting was communication. In open discussions, participants reflected on what is working well and where communication gaps remain between FEIF, national associations, clubs, and the individual riders. How to reach out to the leisure riders and increase the focus of leisure within national associations? Particular attention was given to improving visibility, transparency, and engagement. The meeting concluded with a mobility session led by Kanerva Ahonala, who highlighted the importance of rider fitness and wellbeing. She also demonstrated several simple exercises that can easily be integrated into everyday routines.
