Trine Winther and Sigurbjörn Bárðarson were elected to the Sport Committee for a two-year term. The new young committee member in sport, Anja Lehner, was welcomed. As usual, proposals concerning the rules and regulations were discussed.
Last year, Michael Weishaupt presented very interesting research on recovery times in pace race disciplines. As a result, a proposal for the next DA was accepted, requiring a minimum time of 20 minutes between two rounds. Furthermore, among others, the following proposals for DA 2027 were accepted: one helper instead of two in P1/P3, and a maximum time of one minute between the starter’s signal and the start of the timed stretch in P2.
The Sport Leaders asked the Sport Committee to continue working on proposals to introduce different weighting factors in F1/F2 (tölt not double) and PP1 (time not double). The national Sport Leaders also agreed to restart a working group to include the Gæðingakeppni rules in the FEIF rules and regulations.
Some changes to the Sport Judge Guidelines were discussed, and the national Sport Leaders were informed about changes to the list of allowed equipment (e.g. per April 1st pelham bits are no longer allowed, and the maximum width of all nosebands is set at 1.5 cm).
