The Annual Youth Meeting opened its session by re-electing Dabjört Gudbjörnsdottir and electing Johannes Amplatz into the FEIF Youth Committee.
After an overview of FEIF youth events, the focus was on presentations of the upcoming Cup 2026 in Germany, Camp 2027 in Sweden and Cup 2028 in Denmark. Iceland will take over the organization of the Young Leader and Breeder seminar in 2026 and 2027 and talked about the highlights of these two events.
Main topic of discussions were the difficulty of getting young people more active and involved on a national base and the ways in which FEIF can support the countries on an international level. Creating mutual memories (through the FEIF events), using role models and staying on track of current means of communication seem to be the best strategies. On an international level FEIF can mainly help by spreading knowledge and supporting marketing by distributing pictures and other media items to the member countries. Further topics that were discussed were how to get more boys into riding Icelandic horses. Strategies, such as creating a community were discussed and attention was paid to the marketing of riding that could be seen as too feminine a sport. Further meetings on this topic were agreed on together in collaboration with the leisure committee.
