And the final full day of the FEIF YouthCup. The competition went as competitions go: excitement and nerves, tears and smiles and the occasional moment of disbelief: how wonderful is my horse!!! Did I really to that? How did this happen?

But the YouthCup is about more than rosettes and trophies: people who had been strangers only 5 days ago have become friends and started to look out for one another. Everyone learned something important about themselves, natural leaders emerge, interpersonal difficulties have to be navigated, everyone admires those who keep calm in the storm. Looking back and after a good sleep, this YouthCup will be remembered as being amongst the best: great leadership from the organising team, fantastic facilities and – most of all – new beginnings after 6 years. There is life after Corona – and we are living it.
