Today was the day I never thought would come,
I got to ride my princess once again 🤩
9th March she was diagnosed with laminitis and EMS, (equine metabolic syndrome) No idea where it came from, usually it’s fat ponies on too much grass, but she wasn’t fat and we had no grass as it was still winter mud, it took months to fathom out her diet to reduce the insulin levels in her blood,
Many vet bills, X-rays, drugs, and plenty of heart ache..
in July I very nearly nearly called it a day 😢
Then Kelvin Lymer at The Shoeing Lab 01905-641640 came to my rescue, regular foot trims, and special clog type shoes, now we are onto glue on shoes , After her farrier visit Tuesday I was given the go ahead to ride her again 🥳
I have been walking her out in hand 4/ 5 times a week to slowly re condition her feet to walking and road work again..
Today I got to ride her, it’s been two years since she was a ridden horse, last year she was on field rest due to an injury that wouldn’t come right, she recovered from that then went down with this nightmare..
Now everything is crossed we can carry on our journey to full recovery and get back out there as a riding horse..
