6–10 July 2027 | Wången, Sweden
Get ready for an exciting FEIF Youth Camp in the heart of the Swedish mountain landscape! From 6–10 July 2027, young Icelandic horse enthusiasts will come together at Wången for five days filled with horses, learning, riding, nature and new friendships.
The Icelandic horse will be at the centre of the camp, with a varied programme combining practical horsemanship, interactive learning and memorable outdoor experiences.
Horses, learning and horsemanship
Participants can look forward to practical clinics and interactive sessions covering shoeing and balance, groundwork and long-reining, with opportunities to try the techniques themselves.
The programme will also explore horse welfare and learning theory, including how horses learn and respond to training. Participants will discover more about the history of the Icelandic horse and how knowledge can support fair, thoughtful and sustainable horsemanship.
Nature and shared experiences
There will be plenty of opportunities to enjoy the spectacular Swedish mountain surroundings. Participants will take part in a trail ride through the Swedish mountain nature.
The programme will also include a visit to Åre, with a cable-car trip to Åreskutan, as well as sightseeing and possible local activities. In the evenings, participants can relax and socialise, including at a special barbecue by the lake.
Travel together
The camp experience begins already in Stockholm!
On the afternoon of 6 July, participants will travel together by train from Stockholm Central Station to Wången. The journey takes approximately 5.5 hours and will include sandwiches and refreshments, as well as a variety of fun get-together activities.
The shared train journey provides a relaxed and enjoyable opportunity to meet fellow participants, make new friends and get to know the group before arriving at the camp.
Accommodation
Participants will stay in student accommodation at Wången, sharing twin rooms with another participant. Each room has a private bathroom and shower.
Bed linen is provided and included in the accommodation, making the stay simple and comfortable for everyone.
