Beware of Imitations! – a genuine Icelandic horse must have a passport which shows its bloodlines can be traced back to horses in Iceland. Usually that passport will be from the IHSGB (or another national Icelandic horse society if the horse is not British-bred). All registered Icelandic horses are entered into WorldFengur, the international database of Icelandic horses (IHSGB members have free access to this database). If you are considering buying a horse or pony which has been advertised as an Icelandic and you are not sure of its breeding, please contact the IHSGB studbook for clarification.

Peyr from Birdsmoorgate (Thor)
Strikingly handsome Icelandic gelding, Silver dapple Black Pinto.
4 Gaited
FEIF registration GB2013169004
13hh
11yrs (2013)
Easy to catch, lead, shoe, box, trailer and clip. Currently lives out happily, with access to field shelter.
Fully up to date with vaccinations, worming and dentals (no sedation required – April 2025). Flew through 5 stage vetting in Feb 24.
Lovely, friendly chap, good to handle and in traffic. We are on a working farm, so he is well accustomed to heavy farm machinery.
Thor hacks out alone or in company, schools well with improving lateral and transition work, and pops a lovely jump. Good forward paces. We have not focussed on his Tölt work over this last year, but it is there.
Thor has progressed brilliantly through his training with us and has been exposed to various environments and obstacles. Nothing has phased him. This is a reluctant sale, despite ticking so many of our the boxes, he is just a bit too forward going for RDA work and would prefer to have his one ‘person’, rather than a multi handler environment. He will thrive with a competent rider in an experienced home. He loves attention and being kept busy. He is a quick learner.
He has become our poster boy, and a firm favourite for all of those who
have worked with him. He truly is a fabulous lad.
Saddle (Bates Icelandic, and Top Reiter girth) available as separate sale.

LOOKING FOR A SPECIAL HOME
Looking for an experienced kind and loving home for a very special Icelandic mare “Dimma”

She is 16 years old, but sadly has EMS and cannot tolerate good grass, or any high sugar food. Therefore, an outdoor all surface area, very rough grazing or grass free paddock (must be well drained in winter) so she can be kept out 24/7 as this suits her better and fed hay. Could also be partly stabled if needed. No sweet itch.
To be kept into her retirement although she can be lightly ridden (happy to discuss this with anyone looking to ride her). I feel it would be best if she was loved for being just a companion or as a pet. She has a very loving nature and is extremely people friendly. Perhaps some liberty or in hand work would keep her mind occupied, if you wanted to do this with her?
Cannot be kept on her own, or left totally alone for periods of time, as this would make her anxious. But she will stay in a paddock on her own with another pony/horse nearby.
Her EMS is under control and if her management is continued (I can explain all) then the laminitis attacks won’t re-occur.
Feet are in good shape (no signs of previous laminitis) and are regularly trimmed.
Located and can be viewed near Oxford. Contact angiepidsley@gmail.com or text 07711895911 to start a conversation & Angie will ring back. Thankyou

Horses for sale – breeding – training – livery – retirement

Our horses are carefully trained with understanding and with consideration to give their unforced best and to enjoy their work.
We are delighted to welcome in 2022 with over 50 Icelandic horses including two stallions, various horses ready for sale and in training, brood mares and growing youngsters, and with a large enthusiastic and active group of Icelandic horse liveries.
On the farm there is plenty of space in sheltered secluded fields for retired oldies who have given their everything and are now happy to live out their twilight years with a few old friends wanting for nothing and at peace with the world, and we pride in taking great care of them all.
