Welfare

The IHSGB is committed to ensure that the welfare of the Icelandic Horse is always taken into account, and it is our desire to enhance our members and riders’ education, skills and knowledge of all aspects of the Icelandic Horse.

IHSGB is concerned about the use of so called “blood mares” in Iceland, and is in agreement with and fully supportive of the FEIF position on this practice. FEIF Statement on Blood Mares.

The society is also concerned to maintain our Social Licence to Operate. For an explanation of SLO, please see this document.
