OVAL TRACK TESTS

The oval track tests will consist of two days of preliminary rounds only again this year. We have done this the last two years to allow for social distancing on the track and to facilitate the sport judge’s exam. Due to the amount of positive feedback we have received, we have decided to stick to this format again this year.

CHOICE OF TESTS

Sport A: T1, T2, V1, F1 (on the oval track)

Sport B: V2, T3 (on the oval track)

Sport C: T5, T6, V3, F3 (on the oval track)

Sport D: T7, V5 (on the oval track)

Pace events: P2, PP1 (on the pace track)

Figures Tests (Level 1) in tölt or trot (in the small outdoor arena)

Track & Trail (in the small outdoor arena and on the oval track)

You can find a class descriptions and other information including Track and Trail Guidelines and Obstacle Descriptions on the Sport Resources page on the IHSGB website, and in the FEIF Rules and Regulations:

NO TEST RESTRICTIONS

There are no restrictions of the type of tests you can enter, e.g. you can enter the T7 and T6 or V5 and F3 on the same day.

You can enter different tests each day – so why not try out a test you haven’t ridden before?!

AGE RESTRICTIONS

The number of ‘starts’ is down to the age of the horse: Horses aged 5 years can do a maximum of 2 tests per day. Horses aged 6 years a maximum of 3 tests per day. Horses ages 7 years and above a maximum of 4 tests per day.

JUDGES

Ann Winter, FEIF International Sport Judge

Fi Pugh, FEIF International Sport Judge

Mic Rushen, IHSGB Regional Sport Judge

Becca Hughes, IHSGB Regional Sport Judge

Harriet Vincent, IHSGB Regional Sport Judge

Mike Adams, IHSGB Regional Sport Judge

We suggest you check before entering, using the ‘Vaccination Calculator’ on the British Horseracing Authority website (please ignore the paragraph at the top of the page): http://brenda.britishhorseracing.com/vaccs/ . if you are still unsure, please send an email to sport@ihsgb.co.uk .
